During my sermon this Sunday morning, I used the example of "Colonel Sanders" of KFC to explain how he is simply a brand or image for the company, even though he is no longer alive. The fact that the Colonel is no longer leading the company or kicking around is actually not an issue to the many folks that love KFC chicken! Just make their stomachs and appetites happy! Regrettably, too many church-goers are content with having Jesus simply be a "brand" to their faith. Whether He really resurrected from the grave, alive today and wanting a personal relationship with us iis really not important or relevant. As long as they can consume the product, there's not need to become intimate with the Founder & CEO of the church!
