I pastor a few "knishes"....

While growing up in NYC, I often would eat "knishes".   They were delicious..especially with mustard!   A "knish" was a German food...a deep fried potatoe patty that was crunchy on the outsde...but was soft on the inside (like creamy mashed potatoes).  I usually bought these from the subway food vendors.  Great on cold days!

I pastor several wonderful "Knishes" at FLAG!  Although they appear to be "tough" and "crusty" on the outside, they are really "cream puffs" in the inside!

If Jesus Rose From the DEAD....

If Jesus ROSE from the DEAD...

...then you CAN get out of BED!

Looking forward to seeing you in Sunday School tomorrow morning @ 9:30AM!  :-)

I attended the minister's meeting today...

Well, I attended the regional minister's meeting today.  During the lunch segment, I sat with Pastor Vince Jimenez as well as The Audorff's.  I think our table may have been the "loudest" one there!  We had a great time of fellowship.

I also greeted Roger Bailey. He is the minister that preached at FLAG last weekend (my wife and I were away celebrating our anniversary).  Roger expressed how much he enjoyed coming back to FLAG (he had served as a short-term interim minister when FLAG was without a pastor 3 years ago).

On my way out I said hello to Rusty and Ann Griffin. They pastor Christian City Fellowship in Sealy, TX.  Rusty has an incredible testimony of how God miraculously healed him from 2nd & 3rd degree burns (among other miracles).

So glad that there are many other men and women of God that are co-laborers in His Kingdom!

Did you know that Eddie & Patricia....

Did you know that Eddie & Patricia Foster, our Worship/Fine Arts Pastors, have quite an "ecclectic" ministry resume? They have been ministry team members at a Nazarene church...Baptist church...Pentecostal Holiness church...and another Assemblies of God church prior to coming to Texas from West Palm Beach!

Did you know they have FIVE children?  From elementary school age to college age!

Tomorrow morning I'm attending...

Tomorrow morning I'm attending a regional A/G minister's business meeting in Cypress.  I'm sure that Roger Audorff, missionary to Monterrey, Mexico will be there.  He and his wife wife, Debbie, have become special friends to us. Roger tells people that he's a "Cheesehead" (they're from Wisconsin). Most Texans don't seem to know what that means.

I don't know if Vince Jimenez will be attending.  He's the founding pastor of our sister church in Katy, Gateway Fellowship (they meet at an elementary school on N Fry).  Their church worship team uses our facilities for rehearsal during the week.  The Lord recently healed him from throat cancer.  Powerful testimony.

I'm blessed to have so many minister friends.  They are not the type that believe their "press releases", but are the "real deal".

Morning Sickness

Yesterday I had lunch with Rex Turner, the Houston Teen Challenge Director. I've been mentoring him in ministry. Rex has an incredible testimony!  A few months he married his sweetheart...then shortly afterwards was promoted as Exec. Director...and then found out they were expecting!  Wow.

Tawnee has had "morning sickness" all the time.  Recently she had cravings for BBQ...then later for Mexican chips with jalapenos and pickles!   I explained to him that these cravings are normal...just make certain they're met!

BTW...the Girls Choir from Houston TC will be at FLAG on Sunday 11/18 during the morning service (Annual Missions Convention).   Their stories and ministry in song will bless you!

Keep Rex and Tawnee in your prayers (and their unborn baby)!

Q & A...Church Relocation Status?

Have you found a buyer for the church building?  Not yet.  We've received offers that were declined (i.e., low purchase offer, unrealistic move-out timelines, etc.)

Has a property site been chosen? After extensive research, the Building Steering Committee (BSC) have presented 3-4 very suitable sites for our consideration.  Each has it's pros and cons, but all could work.  We need at least 5 acres...10 would be ideal.

Who is building the new facilities?  Ah, good question!  This coming month the BSC will be interviewing 3 incredible "design/build companies" from the Houston area.  They all specialize in church construction and property development.  Hopefully, one company will be selected by the end of October.

Then what?  The design/build company that we contract with will then generate and present to us a proposed plan (Phase I, II, perhap III)...projected total cost for the project...and provide guidance in selecting the most suitable property site for this project.

Meanwhile?  We'll continue "growing forward" as a church, impacting the Katy Area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We just want to "Keep up with The Cloud"!

Feel free to email questions about the relocation process!

I saw the "Newspaper Man" again...

Yep, the "Newspaper man" was there again this morning at the mall.  While doing my one lap (I felt a "release in my spirit" not to do a 2nd lap ;-) I decided to pray out loud. For some strange reason, other walkers stayed cleared of me this time!

38-Member Orchestra @ FLAG!

Coming to FLAG in a month!   The 38-member Evangel University Orchestra will be ministering in concert at FLAG on Sunday AM, October 21.  We are in need of "Home Hosts" to "adopt" some of these students and provide one-night lodging and breakfast.  Contact the Church Office if you are interested!

It's going to be a SPECTACULAR time!

"Antonia's Cucina" was Awesome!

"Antonia's Cucina" Italian Restaurant!   AWESOME!  Just went there with my family this PM.  It's truly FINE DINING.   New restaurant....authentic, authentic, authenitic!  The owner/chef is a Boston transplant.

Located in the new shopping strip on Katy Mills Blvd  & I-10 ...the corner store...not far from Walmart.  (Hey, Sam Pearson, thanks for letting me know about this place!  It's a winner!)
