"Wet dog smell" inside your car...
My wife and I took our 1-year-old Golden Retriever to the Dog Park in Old Katy today. Yep..a park (and a nice one!) just for our canine friends. Once we were inside the fenced park, our dog was allowed to be...oh, well..a DOG! After running around the park, and visiting/smelling other dogs, she drew her attention to surfing on all the mud puddles. Run...dive...surf...lounge in the mud, that was her joyous activity. Before leaving there, we took our dog to the wash area and rinsed her off. What is it about mud puddles that attract dogs? Is it therapeutic for them?
Caution: Don't go to a dog park wearing your nice clothes!! And keep in mind that it is proper protocol to "pick up" after your dog (complimentary plastic bags & waste baskets are stationed throughout the park). On the way home, be prepared to have a "wet dog smell" inside your car (we drove home with windows open).
we like taking our dogs to the dog park there. Our dogs are so lazy they do one lap around the park and they are ready to head home
