Okay, okay....wishful thinking, I know.

Whoa!  This morning's temperature was in the high 70's...considered a COLD FRONT here in South Texas!   Loved it.   Drove my boy to school with the windows opened.   Then decided to take advantage of the beautiful morning, and my wife and I walked the dog....didn't return home drenched with sweat, as usual.   Hope this weather will last more than a few hours.  Okay, okay....wishful thing, I know.  

Can you say, Cha-cha?

I simply LOVE soups!  All kinds.   Chicken, split-pea, vegetable, New England chowder, potato, etc.  One of my favorites is Cha-Cha Cili Soup.   My wife just made her custom version, and I've been thoroughly enjoying it!

Fortune Village....

Fortune Village STILL is my favorite Chinese restaurant!   Great food, service and ambiance.   AND very reasonable!   This afternoon our Primetimers pastor, David Davidson, joined me for lunch.  I had the usaul, Asparagus Chicken.  YUM!!  

I am loving Mardell's....

I am loving Mardell's, the new Christian bokkstore in Katy.   Today we spent some time browsing and purchasing books, gifts and greetings cards for the church.   It's amazing how one can easily lose track of time in this place.  The ambiance is so peaceful and relaxing.  I especially love reading bios, so this section is one of my favorites.   It is not uncommon for us to run into folks we know, though today we didn't.  Oh, by the way, they offer complmentary gourmet coffees for shoppers!  

Dodo's...not bad

Well, I finally went to Dodo's Chicken restaurant on Mason (in the Fiesta vicinity).  Yep, they do sell pretty good lati-american food.  Probably a combination of Columbian & Central American food.  I had the chicken & rice plate, with fired green plantains.  Not bad.   I'll probably go back on occassion.  Clean place, friendly service, latin music.  Not fancy...you order and pay at the window, then they bring the for to your table.

Red and yellow, black and white....

"Red and yellow, black and white...they are precious in His sight.  Jesus loves the little children of the world!"    This is the song going though my mind this A.M. as my wife and I prayed and layed hands on all the precious kiddos.  It was our annual "Back-2-School" Children's Blessing Service, and all the children from "pre-born" to the 12th grade were individually prayed for as they marched in front of us.  Folks, I believe that we have the most good looking kids in Texas!!!   One of them was as tall, if not taller, than me (I'm 6'1")!   An adorable little girl just had to hug Pastor Albert and Sis. Rebekah.   Another certain small tot just wasn't sure that he wanted to be prayed by us, so he scowled at us (CUTE!!!!).  Also, another pre-teen girl wore a gorgeous dress that appeared to be customed made (India).  When our 7-year-old boy came through the line, Mommy and Daddy just had to kiss him!  Hey...we're pastors that love all the "little lambs" that God has given us to shepherd!!

My eyes teared up....

This afternoon I attended the annual Mpact Girls Ministry Celebration at FLAG.  Three of our girls were crowned as Honor Stars, a difficult level of achievement requiring memorization, projects and Bible reading.   Lily, Rachel and Jordan all looked beautiful in their special formal dresses!   Their parents were tremendously proud of them.  So was I.   As each of these young ladies were escorted down to the front by their dads, a "memory lane" slide show reviewed their life journeys until this point.  My eyes teared up during each presentation.  Kudos to all our faithful Mpact Girls Ministry workers who participate in this tremendous discipleship ministry!
