Wow. This morning's dramatic presentation was indeed powerful. It was called "The Secret Disciple: Joseph of Arimathea", and was entertaining, spell-binding, funny... yet "deep" and serious. The altar call response afterwards really made it extra special. Dr. Rob Starner serves as professor of Greek & New Testament at Southwestern A/G University in Waxahachie, TX. Very smart man. Loves, loves, loves teaching the Bible. He earned his PhD at Baylor and has been teaching for quite a while. What most foks at FLAG didn't know is that we've known each other for over 30 years! Looooong story. Actually, the last time I saw him 'in person" (FB does not count!) was about 15 or so years ago, when he lived in Irving, TX. It really was nice to connect with Rob again...
The tomb was borrowed really stuck with me ... wow <3

Dr. Starner left me with a few nuggets 1. The tomb was borrowed because Jesus would not be there very long!!!!!!!!! (I nearly had a fit in church) Hey, our tombs are borrowed also :) 2. Jesus miracles were in service to others and 3. Palm branches w...ere a symbol of deliverance. (I don't think I've ever known this fact). Thank you for having him. His ministry is a blessing!Read More
