08 - It's Not In Vain

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman & Spiderman are all "wimps"....

Tonight we had one of our "Super Heroes" visiting us in church. (FYI: That's the term we use to describe all our missionaries....Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman & Spider Man are all "wimps" compared to these true heroes of the faith!).  Nestor Medina, veteran missionary to Nicaragua, dropped by to greet and give a brief report to the FLAG family.  He is pastoring 2 large churches, host a weekly 1-hour radio program, is about to begin serving as Chaplain for a national baseball team, and will be pioneering an outreach ministry to a violent motorcycle gang.  Whew!   Interesting trivia:   Nestor and I actually met in 1992 at his home church in Puerto Rico when I was coordinating a crusade there for the international ministry that I worked for.  Isn't it a small world?

Four days?

Definitely a "wow moment"....

I love it when the Holy Ghost "highjacks" the Sunday morning service!  This is exactly what happened yesterday.   There was a beautiful altar ministry time smack in the middle of the service as we were singing the powerful Kirk Talley song, "He is Here".   As we were sang it I felt impressed that there was a tongues with interpretation or prophecy about to be proclaimed.   I had been "prayerfully pacing" in front of the stage when I came face to face with Mike Dowling (he had come up to help pray for one of the men).  Suddenly I exclaimed to him, "You have a word!".  He nodded.  Somehow we both knew that God had supernaturally orchestrated this moment.  As soon as we finished singing that stanza, I motioned to the singers and musicians to cease, and gave Mike the microphone.  He then proceeded to give a prophetic word of exhortation, which resulted in others coming to the altar area to pray.  Definitely a "wow moment".....

I never had any problems with allergies until moving to Texas in 1991.   That's when I was slammed with all kinds of allergy issues.   At first I didn't know what was happening until finally visiting the doctor.  His response?  "Welcome to Texas!" Since then I've lived in various parts of the Lone Star State--West Texas, Deeeeeeeeep East Texas, The Big D, and now Katy/Houston....each region introducing me to different ways of sneezing!   My prayer?  Maranatha!!!!!!!
